This Week's Wonderful Waiting Kids

I wasn't going to post this week but just started thinking about all of these precious children who have no families this year for Christmas and I just had to post about a few of them at least!  I pray that next year, all of them will be home for Christmas, celebrating the birth of Jesus and thriving in the love of a family - their family!  So, this will be a slightly shorter post this week but I hope that someone, somewhere might see a face this week and be moved to make a child's Christmas wish come true!

I would like to start with a shout out about a really great family who is trying very hard to raise the money needed to bring their beautiful children home.

Some of you may remember beautiful "Anna" from ASIA's camp list.  Well, Lisa and her wonderful family are trying to fund raise to bring this beautiful child home.

I asked Lisa to write up a little something for me to post and this is what she wrote about their journey to sweet Anna:

We found out about Anna from an advocacy for waiting children yahoo group. She had an American family commit to adopt her. They traveled to pick her up, and after spending 4 days with her, decided not to adopt her. They felt she is too outgoing and they themselves are quiet people. So they were unable to accept her. She then had to be returned to the orphanage (she took it very hard and felt that no one would ever love her). She was then placed on an individual adoption agencies list. When we saw her pictures and videos, we immediately fell in love with her. We knew she was meant to be our daughter. We knew she was meant to be our daughter. Please follow our journey and prayer for our family.

You can read more about this wonderful family and their faith filled journey, here .  Please prayerfully consider helping to bring their daughter home!

Please also remember to check out the "Ways to Help/Fundraising Families" page to read about more families who are trying to raise the money needed to bring their wonderful kids home and think about helping, even in a small way!  Every little bit helps!

Also a reminder to read Honour's story!

If you have ever considered adopting an older child and even if you haven't, you need to read this amazing child's story - written by her!!!

Oh and I hope to have some really great pics and wonderful news about precious Blossom and her new "wheels!"  Thanks so much to all who donated to this very special cause and stay tuned for some extra good news!!!

OK, on to this week's kids!!

I have to once again start with sweet, precious Blossom!!!

I just found out that, unfortunately, sweet Blossom's file was sent back and she is no longer on the shared list!  Sigh!  Apparently, someone over there doesn't think there is a family for this precious child, no family in all the world who would take that leap of faith to bring this child home and give her the love and the security that only a true family can give - for the rest of her life.

Wonderful Blossom will need a very special family, a family who will know that she will need a lot of care.  I can only imagine the progress she will make within the support of a loving family but that family will need to understand the level of care that she will require.  However, if left in China, I hate to imagine what her life will be, with no family to love her, especially as she grows bigger and older.

You see, there is a lot of life in her eyes and she does understand everything that is said to her and she does understand what is going on around her and she would understand that she does not have a family and that breaks my heart!

I would love to be able to prove "them" wrong and find a wonderful family for this precious child!!!  The wonderful people at the Harmony House take such good care of beautiful Blossom but she cannot stay there forever.  She needs a family!  Please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net if you feel led to give this beautiful child a family!!!  Her file can be re submitted but only IF there is an interested family!!!!  Please, please consider giving this beautiful child a family!!!

Next are the beautiful children being cared for at a Shepherd's Field.

There is beautiful Hayden

You will be seeing a lot of Hayden here as I plan to keep her on until she finds a family! She is waiting for a family and she is waiting to be loved and she is waiting to be hugged and kissed and told how beautiful she is, despite the tumors on her sweet face. She is waiting to get the surgery she needs to ease the pain she feels in her head every day. Her pain comes from the pressure of the tumors growing and the doctors in China cannot seem to help her, so she is being lovingly cared for at A Shepherd's Field while she waits - and - takes - pain - meds - every - day! There is also an amazing family who has pledged $5000 toward her adoption!

This is what her advocate wrote about this precious child:

Beautiful, sweet Hayden. She has watched most of her friends go home and she is still there. She loves to sing and dance and draw. She loves the color pink, flowers, having her nails painted, all things girly and taking care of the little ones at the facility. She loves babies! She really wants a mommy and a daddy to "love her and sing to her and cook her yummy foods".

I have heard from family after family, who have gone to Shepard's Field and met her, that she is the sweetest, most loving, most docile little thing. She takes delight in everything around her and loves talking to new people. The American doctor at her foster facility states that "there was a biopsy done that showed it to be a 'benign lipoma', which means fatty tumor. Keep in mind that biopsy results here are not always accurate. Probably her problem would be best addressed with a combination of specialists - plastic surgeon, dermatology, pathology, cranio-facial surgeon, etc." She has had a total of 3 surgeries so far (in Beijing), but from the pictures after each one, I don't see that anything was actually done. The foster facility is saying that currently she has a seizure disorder. He states that "it is NOT severe and is for the most part controlled by medication." When I talked to several specialists in the states about this, they thought that the seizures could be solely because of the mass on her face and once that is taken out or made smaller, it would stop touching the nerves. The doctor says her hearing and vision appear good. She does have some learning disabilities. She is somewhat slow for her age, but this could be because she is in an orphanage setting. Her nanny said it is a little difficult for her to learn in the school because of all the distractions.

This sweet child needs a family. She is another precious gift who will not have a future in China. When I think of the future she could have without the proper medical care, and without the love and support of a family, my heart just breaks. Please think about the difference you could make in the life of this wonderful little girl. Please search your heart and think about wrapping your arms around this hurting child and telling her that it will be OK, that she has a family now and that she will always be loved and that she is beautiful inside and out! If you are that family. If you feel God's pull for this child, please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net  .

Next at Shepherd's Field is adorable Noel! Noel has CP and truly needs the love and nurturing that only a family can provide! Just look at this very sweet video of this very sweet and happy child. (posted with permission)

She is such a precious child and she needs a family. Noel is 7 years old and has such potential given the support of a family. Please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net  if you think you might be her hope!!!

Next from Shepherd's Field is an adorable little boy named Will. Just take a look at his completely kissable face!

This is what an advocate friend of mine wrote about this precious, adorable little boy:

This is the silliest, spunkiest little guy I have ever seen. He is such a ham and such an awesome "big brother" to all the little ones. He loves to sing and dance and laugh. Will is all about laughing. He would make the perfect addition to anyone's family. He is a big helper and loves to sweep and wash the dishes. He has a cleft lip and palate but they have both been fixed, to the best of my knowledge.

Next from Shepherd's Field is sweet Philip!

Philip is 11 years old and his SN is listed as Spinal tumor & Scoliosis.

This is what is written about this sweet child:

He is very outgoing, loves computer games, Bakugan and transformers. french fries and chicken are his favorite food, he is VERY smart.

He has had some surgeries, is wearing the braces for his spine, and he is paralyzed from the waist down. You wouldn't know it though from how active he is. He loves to play with water guns with his buddies and is great with the younger children.

Please consider this very special child!!  To learn more about any of these wonderful children being cared for at Shepherd's Field, please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net

Next are some really wonderful kids who are featured on the Bringing Hope to Children website.

First is adorable LYF who is only 2 years old and is listed as having LD's.

This is what is written about this wonderful child:

LYF is an adorable little girl who is almost 3 years old. Born with deformities of both arms and hands, she has adapted very well and can use her toes to pick up items her fingers cannot handle. She has some functional fingers, but her hands are turned in so far it makes it difficult to use her hands properly. She would certainly benefit from some OT, which is seldom available in China (especially for orphans). LYF is a delightful child...happy, sweet, lovable...she is well-loved by her foster family. She enjoys going to the park and also loves to watch cartoons! LYF faces an uncertain future in China. There are few (if any) opportunities for those children with disabilities when they are grown. LYF's only chance is to find a family to love her and provide her the education she will need to be self sufficient when she is an adult. That is our wish for all the children...that they be part of loving families and reach their full potential as adults. LYF needs our help...she needs you.

Next is beautiful DGX who is 5 years old and listed as blind in her left eye only!

This is what is written about this beautiful child:

DGX is a beautiful little princess who is 5 years old. She has been in foster care since her arrival at the orphanage when she was about 1 month old. DGX was born with nanophthalmos (abnormal smallness in all dimensions of the eye) and microcornea of her left eye. This has caused that eye to be blind. She has vision in her right eye. DGX has no other health issues and is developmentally on target. Her medical report is a bit dated, so we are asking for a new one. She is such a sweet little girl and we know she would be a blessing to one special family. DGX has been with a foster family for a while now, she knows what families are all about...now she is ready to be a part of a forever family of her very own. DGX is ready to be someone's daughter...is she yours?

Next is sweet FLJ who is 3 years old and is listed as having "delays."

This is what is written about this precious little one:

The file we received for FLJ was over 2 years old, so we are unsure of her progress since she was an infant. She was diagnosed as having "effects of HIE; cerebral underdevelopment and white matter deficiency" when she was one year old. At that time, she was sitting up and crawling, but not yet walking. This beautiful little one is unaware of how such a diagnosis can scare away potential families. But those of us with children born with brain injuries/issues know all too well how the human brain can adapt and recover. We do not know if this issue will affect FLJ's abilities in the future, but we do know she will have a brighter future if she has the love and support of a family. A family for FLJ will change her life.

New info: FLJ is now 94cm tall and weighs 12.9kg. She is still unable to walk although she can sit and crawl. She is not yet speaking but makes good eye contact. She is not yet toilet trained. She has been healthy. By this recent photo, she appears to be a happy little girl. FLJ needs a family as soon as possible. She needs to begin a program of therapies to help her improve all of her motor skills and hopefully, her communication skills. She needs the love of a family.

Next is wonderful YJ who is 12 years old and is listed as Hep B pos.

This is what is written about this precious child:

When YJ was found, wrapped in a quilt on a chair at a hospital when she was just a baby, there was a note with her that said, "Hope kind people gets". That breaks my heart to think of a birth family, unable to care for their baby girl, leaving her and hoping someone with a kind soul will care for her and love her. YJ has become a strong and beautiful young girl who is now 12 years old. She excels in sports and is a very good student. Her report says she has a "strong performance desire" and this shows in her good scores from school. YJ has been healthy; she does test positive for HepB. YJ will be a wonderful addition to a loving family. We join YJ's birth family in their wish..."Hope kind people gets".

Next is wonderful LZB who is 11 years old and is listed as Hep B pos

This is what is written about this sweet child:

LZB is a very cute 11 year old girl who has been in care since she was a newborn. She attends a regular school outside the orphanage and although she does fairly well there, her teachers report she is too playful; she needs to study a bit more. LZB is living with a foster family and has learned to take care of her belongings and help out around the house. She loves to play all kinds of sports. LZB is active and likes to run. She is close to her foster parents, especially her foster father...but as with all foster children, she will have to leave their care when she ages out of the system unless she is able to find a family of her own. A foster family is simply not the same as a real, forever family. That is what LZB needs the most.

Next is handsome QB who is 9 years old and is listed as having a "leg deformity"

This is what is written about this precious child:

QB is a smart, curious, happy little boy, born in 2001. He was found abandoned when he was one month old; healthy and in good condition but with a congenital deformity of both legs. He is unable to walk, but has very good fine motor skills and is a very bright child. He has a very cute round face, and eyes that show you he is paying very close attention to everything around him. You know the look...he is one smart cookie! QB is very sociable, and loves to play. He does not allow his condition to slow him down at all! QB would benefit from physical therapy, and perhaps surgery (?). But he will not have an opportunity for these unless he has a family to provide the help he needs...and the love and support. Will you be his family?

Next is a child I have advocated for here before and I pray she finds her family soon!  She is WLZ and she is 10 years old.  She has CP athetosis and is so very cute!!!

This is what is written about this beautiful child:

WLZ is an active little girl, happy and curious, sweat smiles on her face all the time. She is a very lovely child, very independent, she dresses herself, takes bath, washes her own hair and does chores such as washing dishes, clearing rooms, and taking care of garbage. She loves doing this for the foster Mama. WLZ is a gentle girl, considerable, and polite. She is a warm hearted child, gets along with the other kids very well, and always loving helping the others as much as she can. She is taking care of the brother and sister (foster home’s) very well, she is a very honest child. She is in little sister class of “the half sky”, who understands the teachers, and learns well. Her speech is clearer, and can describe an event, counts from 1-100; knows the concept of amount;she can do addition and abstract within 10 by heart; and math problems of adding two digits to one digit( such as 10+8=; 22+5=). She walks normal and balance well in the rooms, gets on and off steps by herself;but not used to fast walking in outside road, she needs help on high hill road, she can get on and off the bus by herself. She has many interests, watches TV ;singing, playing outdoor games with her “brothers and sisters”, she can sing several songs by her own. She eats well, eats many things but “tofu Chinese soft bean cube” and fish. She is a healthy girl. WLZ is a very kind heart, polite and independent girl. We are hoping that she can have a family of her own, and grows up happily.

Last from Bringing Hope to Children is adorable YD.  YD is 6 years old and is listed as having "finger deformity/clubfeet" and is completely precious!  There is now a $5000 grant for this wonderful child!

This is what is written about this sweet boy:

YD is a bright, happy and energetic little boy who is 6 years old. He attends school and is very helpful to the nannies at the orphanage. He has a wonderful disposition and his friends enjoy playing with him. YD has had two surgeries to correct his club feet; a third surgery was being planned in 2008 but we have not received a report with any details on that procedure. He walks without a problem and has the use of both hands. He has use of at least some of his fingers, but could really benefit from some therapy to improve his fine motor skills. YD is an all-around great little guy who would be such a wonderful addition to someone's family! There is a $5,000 grant available toward his adoption expenses which has been provided by someone who really wants this special boy to find a family.

New info: YD is now 114cm tall and weighs 23kg. He has not has any serious illnesses, but has had a cold and cough in bad weather. He wears corrective shoes for his club feet which, along with the previous surgeries, have resulted in improvement in their positioning. He can walk normally and stands very straight. He is developing on target. YD is in the first grade, doing well in both language and math. He is an independent boy, who washes his face when he gets up and washes his feet before bed. He dresses himself and helps the adults with chores. He is an outgoing boy, who gets along with the other children very well and is a favorite of the nannies.

Next is adorable little John Wayne who is being cared for at Eagles Wings.  This little guy is just so cute and sounds like such a sweet and active boy!

This is what is written about this adorable child from the director of Eagles Wings:

This will be the second Christmas since I was handed a scared looking nine month old boy and told to hurry and get him out of the orphanage before the director changed his mind. And sweet John Wayne entered my foster home and our hearts.  He has now been waiting many months for a family to choose him, and as much as we love him and enjoy his hugs and smiles (and his all boy grins and laugh) I am really sad that another Christmas will come and go without a family for John Wayne.  His sn is a little scary for some until you really learn more. Spina bifida can have unknowns but there are so many resources in the US to manage any issues and give John Wayne a full and wonderful life. Very little of that is available here in China. We do our best but it isn't the same as what a family of his own can do. But the best part is what he can do for that family...he is a little ray of sunshine to everyone. I know lots of kids with SB who have been chosen these last few months and lots of little boys (John Wayne is 2y9m), I just can't figure out why a family hasn't fallen in love with him. Can you all pray for John Wayne this Christmas? I don't mean a quick shout out, but really bring his name to the Lord, make him a special part of your Christmas prayers? I so want to see a miracle for this little boy who is already a running, jumping, climbing, silly, stubborn, loving miracle to us.

If you would like more info on this precious child, please email Donna at drlfl@juno.com or me at 5puppies@comcast.net

Next is beautiful, wonderful Natalie!!!!!

You may remember that this precious child sat on Lifeline's list until her file had to be returned!  I pray that someone will give this child a chance - the family she so desperately wants!  I read an email about this darling girl stating that she is the only one her age that hasn't been adopted yet and she has watched as all her friends have found their families and gone home.  She is heartbroken and doesn't understand why she hasn't been "chosen!"

You can go here on my blog to read more about sweet Natalie!!  Please, please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net if this beautiful child moves your heart, if you might be able to give her the family she so desperately wants!

Next is a couple of the kids from Lifeline's new list.

The first is sweet Rachel who 9 years old.  She is listed a "delayed" (read below) and has a grant available!

Rachel was featured a while back on the Love Without Boundaries blog.  This is what is written about this truly wonderful child:

"Clever, affectionate and popular.”

“A very good, caring friend.”
“Leader.”
“Devoted big sister.”

These are all words that have been used to describe Rachel, a lively eight-year-old girl in our foster care program. Rachel is an open and friendly girl who loves dancing and has often taken on the role of tutor to her friends at school. Rachel was identified early in life as having some developmental delays, but she is very healthy and is now consistently described in her monthly reports as very bright, articulate, hard-working and disciplined at school, as well as in her family. She received excellent marks in both math and Chinese on her most recent exams!

Rachel gets herself up quickly and eagerly gets ready for school each day. Rachel’s teachers often point her out to other students as a good example. A devoted friend to other little girls who live in her close neighborhood, Rachel especially treasures her role as doting big foster sister to baby Leah, and she often spends time following Leah around, showing her off to the neighbors and taking very good care of her, as can be seen in the top photo!

I had the privilege of meeting Rachel in person when I visited two years ago. She was so cute and giggly as she sat at her school desk, excited to meet us and clearly wondering what little gifts we might have brought. Rachel will be a wonderful daughter to any family who opens their hearts to her, and I am very much looking forward to the day when I read that she has found her forever family!

Then there is this email from a family who met sweet Rachel:

I met her personally. I couldn't tell what delay she has. At least, she is a very smart student. I talked to the tutor who teaches all the older children under LWB program. She said Rachel is the smartest one. Her personality is also so gentle and sweet. She stayed with us for hours and took us to her foster home in the end. She was very nice to her foster sister. I love this girl so much and I hope we can find her a nice family.

Please go to Lifeline's website or email Amy at amy.dummier@lifelineadoption.org to find out more about this precious, loving little girl!!!!

Next from their list is wonderful Serena

Serena is 10 years old and is listed as having AM of both eyes, ambloyopia of both eyes; strabismus of both eyes, NY of both eyes

Here is a plea from a Mom who knows Serena:

Serena is my son's former foster sister. She is now ten, a year older than he. The referral photo is ages old and does her no favors whatsoever. She is living with a fantastic New Day foster family (an American couple), with several foster sisters all about the same age. She left her foster family in the province last May to come to New Day, and what a wonderful difference!! She now has hope and a real chance at life. She's had a real assessment of and related help for her eyesight, and glasses (finally!!!!!)...what a difference for her. She's learning so much, about being with a family...with parents, with the other girls...how to ride a bike, to have fun, to learn new things, learning Mandarin and English, cooking, just normal everyday things, so new and so wonderful for her. The kid who kept saying "I'm a bad girl" (this from my son and her new foster parents) now has a smile on her face and you can just see that she is beginning to believe in herself. It hasn't been easy for her, it's a huge change from the life she had before, and I know how hard it has been for our son. But she's doing it, she's doing so well, with the love and caring of her very experienced and wise new foster parents.

We aren't able to adopt again, but we would love to see Serena find her family. Our son is so happy to see her happy (and safe) in her new foster family and keeps asking if she will come to a family here too. We hope so, and we're willing to share whatever we can with any interested family. The kids were together from babyhood until our son left with us in July 2008, so they know each other very well.
Here's a link to the New Day forever home blog and recent photos of Serena helping to decorate the tree: http://chinaloveministries.blogspot.com/2010/12/tis-season-cont.html
Once you're there, search for Serena and you'll find more. Her foster mom has shared the fun stuff and some of the hard stuff; all good!! I can tell you that everything she talks about we've experienced in very similar ways; life with the foster family in the province was better than other options but it was hard and it was not always good. But the kids were loved, they had a very real life there, and all three (there is a younger former foster sister, now here) have done so well.  You can also go to the main New Day blog from this site, and read the entries that include Serena.

If you would like more info on this precious child who deserves a chance at a family of her own, please again go to Lifeline's website or email Amy at amy.dummier@lifelineadoption.org .

Lifeline also has many other sweet kids listed like:

Allie

Brooke

Cameron

David

Hope

Joseph - you gotta go see his updated pic!!

and beautiful Joy!
Please again go to Lifeline's website to find out more about these precious waiting children and so many more!!
Next from LWB's is handsome Nicholas.

Please read what is written about this wonderful boy:

Nicholas, a twelve-year-old boy in LWB’s Foster Care Program, will no longer be eligible for adoption soon. Grant Me A Chance has chosen him to offer a $2,000 grant toward his adoption expenses. We can imagine how excited Nicholas would be to receive his own family!

When Amy Eldridge, LWB’s Executive Director, visited with Nicholas this past summer, she remembers how he sang for her and her travel companions. Everyone was in awe of his heartfelt song. Nicholas had a foster sister to whom he was particularly close. When she was recently adopted, he took it really hard and was sad when he had to say goodbye to her. More recently Nicholas has enjoyed the addition of his new foster brother, who will also be adopted soon. Nicholas would love to have his own family and the chance to be a big brother again for another sister or brother. On the same visit, Nicholas told Amy, “I would be so kind to a mama and baba.” What a sweet heart he has!

Nicholas has a diagnosis of mild cerebral palsy. He uses a walker most of the time but can stand on his own and walk without the walker with some support. Due to his cerebral palsy (CP) diagnosis, he was not always able to attend school and get his educational needs met. Although his ability to attend school regularly has been affected by his special needs, Nicholas remains an eager student. He is currently studying Chinese characters, Chinese poetry, and math, but his real passion is for drawing. He is quite a budding artist with a rich imagination. His other interests include singing and spending time with his younger foster brother. He is very helpful around the foster home by helping pick the vegetables and set the table. He looks forward to helping others, and he is determined not to let his CP diagnosis hold him back. Nicholas is described by his foster family as very talkative, polite, and loving to tell stories. He is studious, attentive, and well behaved.

We hope this grant helps make a difference in Nicholas’s life. Please take a moment to help make a difference yourself and share Nicholas’s story with others.  Love Without Boundaries proudly advocates for adoption but is not an adoption agency. We invite you to contact adoptionassistance@lwbmail.com  with questions about a child we have featured and encourage you to contact your local adoption agency for more information about China’s Waiting Child Program.

Please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net if you would like to get in touch with someone who has met this child!

Next is an urgent request for an 11 month old boy.  I do not know where this child is other than it is an international adoption and SINGLES ARE ACCEPTED!!!  Read below:

"URGENT NEED!!!!! This is an international adoption. Tony has a sad and tragic story. His mother was hired by a family in another country to be a surrogate mother. She had twin boys in January of 2010. One of the twins, Tony, was not the perfect baby that his parents had expected. He was abandoned by his biological parents and his surrogate in Russia while his healthy twin sibling, went to live with the biological parents.  He has a diagnosis of epidermolysis bullosa. No one knows how this baby who has so much pain has survived. He has never been outside of his crib and thanks to some volunteers with huge hearts, he now has some toys to look at. He has a nurse dedicated to managing his care thanks to generous donations. Psychologists say that Anton is a very smart, calm and an incredibly patient boy. He watches adults come into the room and greets them with a smile despite the fact that they often cause him devastating pain changing his bandages. Tony can’t stay in the hospital forever and he will not have a future where he is. If he gets sent to an orphanage, there will be no dedicated caregivers and he likely will not survive.  This blonde haired blue eyed angel desperately needs a family to love him and offer him the medical care that he desperately needs. We have received a $5,000 grant to assist with the cost of his adoption. If you would like more information on how to give Tony the loving family he needs, please contact Kids To Adopt by email at kidstoadopt@yahoo. or by phone at 360-695-1704."

Next is another urgent situation.  This wonderful boy is listed with WACAP and I cannot post his pic but you can go to their website here to request a password to see their list or email Lynne at LynneM@wacap.org

SJJ is very sensible and helpful to others. He says he wants to help take care of people. He is very considerate. He doesn't want to make extra work for others in his life, so he often helps the caretaker with her chores. He has a great smile and personality. He says he likes to jump rope, do paper cutting, and to learn things. He has had seizures in the past but hasn't had a seizure in a long time and is not on medication. His motor skills are normal. WACAP also has many, many beautiful kids on their list, however, there are 2 little girls who have just captured my heart!  I have seen both of their files and their videos and they are PRECIOUS!!!!  Please someone take a look at these wonderful little girls.

The first little one I have named Winnie and she has completely stolen my heart. This child just needs a family, please! She just looks like she needs a Momma and a Daddy to wrap their arms around her and just hold her and love her forever! In her video, they ask her who her favorite person is and she cannot name one!!!  Can you imagine?  She is 6 years old and she does not have a favorite person in her life!  You just have to see her video!  She is just so cute and so functional despite her special needs.  Please consider being her favorite person!

Her ID# is JH4.ZWX.0304.31088.01 and this is what is written about this precious child:

She was very shy when she met us, but her nannies report that she is usually very outgoing. She enjoys going to school and doing exercises and singing. When we asked her what her favorite toy was, she said that she liked riding on bikes. She is unable to bend her elbows or lift her arms very high and both of her feet are clubbed, but she is able to get around very well on her own. She is very interested in activities in school and participates in everything. She helps others complete their work. She receives a little bit of physical therapy at the institute. She has some strength in her hands and is able to grip objects. She can walk on her own without a walker and when she dropped a toy, we saw her bend down to pick it up off the floor. Although she has several physical disabilities, she doesn’t allow them to slow her down one bit! She would like to be a teacher when she grows up because she thinks that teachers are powerful! She will need a family of her own to help her reach her full potential. There is a $4200 Promise Child grant for eligible families for this adoption and a possible additional fee reduction. Please contact a Family Finders Case Manager for more information.

Please contact Beth at BethH@wacap.org to find out more about this very special child.  You can also go to WACAP's website to see her picture. Please pray about Winnie, this little one is very dear to my heart!

The other little one from their site who has captured my heart is one whom I have named "May."  May is listed as having LD's and is 5 years old. I have seen her video as well and she is adorable and just incredible! Her nanny obviously loves her and is very affectionate toward her during her interview and very playful with her as well.

Her ID# is JH4.WLM.0605.31082.01 and this is what is written about this adorable child.

She is a cheerful and affectionate little girl who likes to be very helpful! She said that when she grows up, she wants to help her mom sweep the floor! She told us that she enjoys eating strawberries and watermelon. Her favorite toy is to play with balls, and she also enjoys riding a bike. We observed her riding a tricycle and she does very well pedaling! This is quite impressive because her legs are unable to straighten more than about 90 degrees at the knee. She is able to get around very quickly and has developed her own way of walking using both her hands and feet. She goes to kindergarten at the institute, but lives in a foster family in the community. She is able to dress herself a little. She can’t balance well over the toilet, so she needs someone to hold her over it when she goes, but she is able to tell her caregivers when she needs to use the bathroom and she is able to remove her pants. She is a little shy with strangers, but gets along well with others. Her caregivers say that she is quite talkative once she gets to know you. She is a very sweet little girl and giggled while she playfully chased her nanny around the room at the end of our interview. There is a $2200 Promise Child grant for eligible families for this adoption and a possible additional fee reduction. Please contact a Family Finders Case Manager for more information.

Please ask to see this child's file. She has such wonderful potential if only she could find a family to provide the opportunity to her! She has learned to make the best of her situation but oh my how she could blossom with the love and support of a family.

There is also another little sweetheart who will have a hard time in China if she is not adopted.  This little one was a part of their camp and even though she has a "facial deformity," she is simply beautiful!

Her ID # is JH4.ZYZ.0304.31090.01 and this is what is written about this precious child, who because she has a "facial deformity," will NOT have a future in China!

She is described as being a little shy around strangers, but when she becomes more familiar with people she is very talkative. Her caregivers are obviously quite fond of her because they describe her as “naughty” which is seen as a very positive trait in a young child and is often used to describe a child who is inquisitive, active, and curious. She likes to sing. She enjoys going to school where she can play with toys – especially the bikes. When we asked her what her favorite animal was, she said that she likes little dogs. She was born with a cleft lip and palate as well as other facial abnormalities. Her speech is very clear and her nanny says that she is just as smart as all of the other little children. She lives in a foster family. She is very affectionate and we saw her take her caregiver’s hand several times for comfort while we asked her questions. By the end of our interview, she had warmed up enough to pose for the camera. She is an affectionate child who needs the love that only a permanent family can give her. There is a $4200 Promise Child grant for eligible families for this adoption and a possible additional fee reduction. Please contact a Family Finders Case Manager for more information.

Again, you can go to WACAP's website to see this beautiful child and request her file.  There are also many, many other wonderful children on the list, some from the shared list and some from their designated and camp lists.  There are several from the shared whom I have been advocating for here:

Next are two wonderful TWINS - a girl and a boy!!!

They are 12 years old and an interested family would be able to sykpe with them!  How awesome is that!  They are listed with Adoption Associates and I am not sure if they are on their designated list or if they are on the shared list.  Here is what is written about these 2 very special kids:

We are looking for a loving home for 12 year old twins, Katie and Kyle. Both Katie and her twin brother were found by their foster family since one day old and had been living with them for almost ten years. They are now under the orphanage guardianship. Katie is a healthy, bright, sweet, caring and beautiful little girl. Kyle, a handsome, smart and happy boy is hepatitis b positive. He gets along well with anyone around him and is very polite and respectful. He loves to read and enjoys martial arts. I had a very nice conversation with their orphanage director. She adores them and hoping to find a permanent home for the twins. She mentioned that they are in regular school and doing very well academically. She describes Katie to be kind, generous and always wants to help others, Kyle to be well-behaved, hard working and polite boy. The twins are very supportive and care for each other. Both the orphanage director and their teacher are so fond of the twins. They hope that they can be placed with a family who will provide them with a loving home and better education.

Last this week with the new kids is an adorable little guy named Zane, who is being featured at LWB's.

Zane is 9 years old and would love to have a family for Christmas!  This is what is written about this adorable little boy:

On the seventh day of Christmas, we are praying that nine-year-old Zane can get the most wonderful gift of all this holiday season – a family to choose him as their son. Zane has lived in his orphanage since he was just a tiny baby. He was diagnosed with a serious heart condition when he little, and doctors said he would not survive past age five. The orphanage staff fell in love with this kind and happy little boy, and they did their best to care for him. They were overjoyed when his fifth birthday came and went, and they continued to take Zane to the hospital trying to find a doctor who could help him. Again and again they were told that his heart defect was too complex.

This past spring, LWB learned of Zane, and we sent him to one of the top heart surgeons in China, who was able to successfully perform a Glenn procedure on his heart. Immediately after surgery, Zane’s lips and fingers went from blue to pink! Zane felt wonderful, and his caregivers tell us he now has so much energy. Zane has watched so many of his friends be adopted from his orphanage, always believing he would never get that chance. Following his successful surgery, however, his orphanage filed his paperwork and Zane is now on China’s shared adoption list. This beautiful little boy is now hoping that a family will see his photo and want him as part of their family. If you know anyone who is open to adopting an older boy, please let them know that Zane is waiting. He has already shown so many of us how sweet and brave he is. The doctors at the hospital all were touched by his courage and kindness. Zane has been given a second chance at life through surgery. Now he needs a second chance at LOVE through a family of his own. For more information on Zane, contact adoptionassistance@lwbmail.com .

Next is another urgent situation.  This very handsome young boy needs to find a family quickly before he ages out in February!!!

He is listed with Holt and his ID# is B10_151.  This is what is written about this wonderful young child:

This young man is in need of a special family before he is no longer eligible for intercountry adoption. He has been in care since February 2002 and is currently living in an institution and attending school. He has formerly lived with a foster family. He is described as an honest, brave, well behaved and outgoing young man, though he can be shy in new environments. He has a previous history of being Hepatitis B positive. He enjoys drawing, reading and playing ping pong. His teachers report that he is an average student with a strong desire for knowledge. He likes his caregivers, teachers and friends and is said to be respectful and caring of the people around him. He expresses himself clearly and consistently, is said to know right from wrong and is a problem solver. His favorite toys are remote control planes and cars. He is in need of a family who has experience parenting past his age, can provide him with any medical care he may need, and who has a dossier in country so that he can be adopted before he turns 14. Previous older child adoption experience in preferred.

Please go to Holt's website to find out more about this wonderful boy and while you are there, take a look at all the precious ones they have listed!  Sigh!!  Like this little cutie pie!!!

This little one is just 5 years old and her SN is a "deformity" of her arms and a surgically corrected heart defect.  This is what is written about this sweet child who has been on their list for a long time!!

This jolly little girl is in need of a special family. She is said to enjoy the company of her peers as well as attention from adults. She is described by her caregivers as a very active little girl who enjoys smiling. Upon admission she was found to have a deformity of both of her arms. It is reported that her ulna and radius bones are absent in both arms, and that she has delayed motor development. She is able to use her hands to feed herself. She has also had surgery in April 2008 for a congenital heart defect which was successful. She is currently in school at the institution, and she has a favorite teacher. She is in need of a family who is able to provide her with the medical care and therapies that she will need, and who has preferably parented past her age. Keyword: limb difference

Also this week is a very sweet little boy who I have advocated for here before - a - long - time - ago.

His name is Paul and his SN is listed as "absence of the lower left limb" although it appears his entire leg is missing.  He is 9 years old and is on the shared list.  There is a wonderful family who would love to talk to any interested family.  Please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net if you would like to find out more about this precious little boy!

What a precious little boy! Please someone bring this child home!  What a smile!!  This is what is written about adorable Drew:

This sweet child is seven years old. He has cerebral palsy. He has some issues with walking. When we met Drew he was using crutches to get around, but he told us that he preferred a push walker. He is currently participating in physical therapy and doctors think that there is a good chance that he may be able to walk on his own some day. He has good cognitive skills, however, he does have some catching up to do. Drew is a very imaginative boy. He likes to play outdoors. He also said that he likes to do his homework because the teacher gives them a treat.  Read more about Drew and the time we spent getting to know him on our blog www.aacadoption.blogspot.com  If you have room in your hearts and home for this child, please feel free to contact our offices by phone (970) 532-3576 or by email info@aacadoption.com  for more information about this child or about our programs in general. fill out a preliminary application. Again, make certain you check out their blog at http://www.aacadoption.blogspot.com/  to see these sweet boys and many more!!

Then there is this sweet boy whom I have been advocating for here for a really long time.

He is listed with CHSFS and does not have a name - just a number.  Any suggestions??  I would so love to see this child find a family.  This is what is written about this precious child:

ID #210-22JH This handsome and smart boy was born in 2004. He is happy, outgoing and very focused. He likes running with his classmates and playing games. He likes play-doh and drawing. He attends schol and can write, count, sing, dress, and read simple characters His teachers describe him as studious and hard working. In his foster home he helps his foster parents a lot by mopping the floor and cleaning the table. This boy has a slightly deformed right arm that he uses well and a deformed left hand. He is very independent and is proud of the fact that he does many things on his own. He said “I can walk, run, rope jump, dance and feed myself as other children with normal hands can do.” I was very proud of his abilities. He wants an adoptive family.

Contact us for more information about this child, including a videotaped interview. Email intchild@chsfs.org  or call 651.646.7771 or 800.952.9302 to speak to a Journey of Hope Specialist.

I have to close with wonderful, precious Yaru.  This child is 12 years old, has CP and will break your heart!  In her video she is bubbly and outgoing but at one point this beautiful child breaks down and sobs that she just wants a Mama and a Baba of her own - a family!!!

Oh my!  This is what is written about this sweet child by someone who was touched by this child and would dearly love for her to realize her dream of a family of her own!

From her video, it seemed the CP primarily affected her upper limbs - she seemed to walk quite well. The video I saw of Yaru revealed a happy, joyful girl - and very smart! Another video of her however was heart-breaking - she broke down in tears and sobbed saying what she most wanted was a "Baba" and a "Mama!" So hard to watch. She also wanted to let prospective parents know she was trying to learn English. She gave a big "Hello!" to the interviewers and radiated a huge smile.

Oh my heart! It is breaking for this sweet child. Please think about giving her what she most wants in life and what every child deserves - Mama and a Baba!!!! Email me at 5puppies@comcast.net  if you think you might be this wonderful little girl's family!!!

Once again, please remember all the other precious ones whom I have posted about here, like:

Heather with Madison

Bianca with Madison

Elizabeth with Wasatch

Bella with Wasatch - from another advocate:
When I was thirteen years old, I was still playing with Barbie dolls and washing off the "cooties" that were left behind when a boy touched me. I dreamed about one day becoming either a ballerina or a nurse or both. It was a simpler time and in my childhood innocence, I was still a little girl in every way. Which brings me to the beautiful child in the photo to the left . . .

Last week, I received an email from a mom who this past July adopted the adorable baby girl who used to sleep in the crib adjacent to our son in his orphanage. In her email, she told me about a beautiful, healthy little girl in China referred to as Bella, who if not matched with a family before her fourteenth birthday in February 2011, will permanently age out of the adoption process. Now, I don't know about you, but as a mother of a once thirteen year old daughter, I have had a very difficult time sleeping this past week just thinking about the uncetain reality of this little girl's future. That having been said, I implore each and every reader of this post to study this precious child's face. Think for a moment about your own children and then examine the longing in her lonely eyes. Most importantly, when you hit your knees this evening, PLEASE PRAY FOR BELLA. Ask your heavenly Father how he would use YOU to change her life for the better. Please forward this post to EVERYONE and ANYONE within your personal sphere of influence with the hope that SOMEONE would read this story and be touched by God to reach out to this child and bless her with the family and the future she deserves. For more information please contact kathy@wiaa.org  and reference Child #4 "Bella"

Please, please email me at 5puppies@comcast.net if you would like more info about any of these wonderful kids or if you would like for me to include a child or if you just need help with the process!!!

  2. I met Hayden two summers ago while visiting Philip Hayden, and she was such a snuggly little girl and interacted with several people while we were there. In the photo that I have of her, it looks as the tumor was bigger back then, so perhaps some of the surgeries have shrunk it. On the other hand, it could be the fact that she was tinier then, which the tumor look larger.

  3. I posted about Bella once I heard about her. It is so hard to hear about cases where they is so little time left and most families who have their paperwork in order already have matched with a child. I know I always found my older children first and then began the process, that is what kept me motivated to work as fast as possible on each adoption.
