A Bus Full of Love

I normally get 10 to 15 emails a day asking, pleading, begging me to help, to forward on, to donate, to foster or to rescue and they are full of beautiful, innocent faces of those animals that have done nothing to deserve death but find themselves facing death, nonetheless.

Every now and then, however, I get an email like the one below and my heart is lifted until...

the next 10 to 15 emails.  Sigh!!!

A BUS FULL OF LOVE

Puyallup, WA - At certain animal control facilities in Southern California, animals are being killed in droves.

Unfortunately, in many of these facilities, intakes far outnumber the adoptions...we all know the sad end result of such an off balance equation.

One Washington based rescue organization has decided to make a huge impact on the lives of these California "E-list" dogs.

Sunny Skys Animal Rescue has obtained a "rescue bus" which is dedicated to making the long trek to California - its sole purpose to save dogs from death row.

Today (Sunday) a team of volunteers loaded the rescue bus to capacity - carefully creating files for each dog, safely crating each and every "hopeful", and closing the doors to begin the journey back to Washington.

The dogs are leaving the sun-drenched state of California, heading for the grayer skies of Seattle.

But these lives are leaving behind something more than a sunny climate - they are leaving behind their death sentence - heading North towards hope and a bright future.
