Orphan Sunday

Honestly, I did not know what I was going to post about Orphan Sunday.

I mean to me, every Sunday is Orphan Sunday, every month is Orphan Awareness Month...

or it should be.

The Lord has broken my heart for these children and I eat, sleep and breath this orphan crisis, every single day...

 not just on this day.

Now, I know this day is important but I wish that the orphan crisis would be important every day and especially every Sunday.

I pray that more and more churches step up to address this crisis by promoting awareness, supporting adoptive families or promoting adoption itself as we are all adopted and we are told to

"look after orphans and widows in their distress"

I also know that most of you who are reading this right now, have had your hearts broken for these kiddos as well.  You know my heart as your hearts are similarly burdened.

So, today, for me was like any other day.  I prayed for these children and I advocated for them and I will do the same tomorrow and I know that many of you will as well and while it can seem so hopeless at times...

I see their faces, the faces of my precious ones and I see the Lord's hand and I have hope.

With that hope, I will post some of the kiddos whom I have been advocating for, for so very long.  Please take a look, share and pray that by next Orphan Sunday, they will be orphans no more.

Evie

Evie is DARLING!  This adorable almost 9 year old with spina bifida wants to be a doctor when she grows up!!! I have seen Evie’s video and all I can say is – WOW!!!!  She is ADORABLE!  Oh my goodness, she is bright and articulate and I pray that with some good PT,  she might just be able to walk, at the very least with crutches but I would not put anything past this bright child!  She has a smile that will melt your heart and is as cute as a button!!!!

Jolie

Beautiful Jolie is 12 years old and is listed as having both feet lameness. You have to watch her precious wonderful videos, however, where she is walking and playing some Bball!!!!!  Dear Jolie just has the sweetest smile!!!!  Oh my goodness, what a beautiful child!

Tessa

Please, please someone take a chance on this precious child!  Sweet Tessa is 10 years old and is listed as having “congenital multiple joint flexion contracture.”  Sweet Tessa sounds bright and extremely delightful!  She is unable to use her hands well but she is said to be a compliant and pretty girl, who greets others well, and when younger siblings fall down or are in danger will call aunt loudly to help.   According to her caregivers, “She is like an angle, protects younger siblings, but this angel lost her wings.”  Oh my heart!!  It is stated that she likes to sing, to put on performances and outdoor activities, asking to go outside often to play.

Lou

Sweet Lou is 8 ½ years old and is listed as having post-op cleft lip/palate.  I don't have to say much about this precious child as his incredible video says it all!!!

Charlie

Wonderful Charlie is 12 years old, born in 2000 and is listed as having absence of toes of both feet and abnormal functions of left upper limb. This poor child was abandoned at 6 years old with severely infected feet. Oh how I pray this precious child will find his forever family. Just read what is written about wonderful Charlie and how helpful he is with other children:

During daily life, he is not only able to do something as his age appropriate, but also able to help other children who are in fragile condition such as when having day trips, he would hold other children’s hands, carry small bag full of food, help tie the shoes of other children, help teachers to put away toys, clean the classroom after activities are done. He always the most positive one to clean toys and he does things very carefully in that he uses a brush with some wash drop to clean the dirt on a toy. The day trips and interaction activities in the community expand his horizon and strength his social ability. He has become a full of confidence child who is kind hearted and loves his life from an unsocial, timid and self-abased child. He is a sunny boy.

I have 4 precious videos of this wonderful child:

Chaz

Sweet Chaz is 13 years old and is listed as having alopecia areata. Time is running out for this wonderful child! Please read about sweet Chaz.who wants to “have my own parents”!! Oh my!   This wonderful child is said to be a great student who watched over and helps take care of his younger foster siblings.

Please watch this wonderful video of sweet Chaz in which he says:

"After I came to the orphanage, I started to feel I want a family so much. Although we have a stable life here, it’s nothing can compare with to have a real family. I know the government has supported me to go to school and I know I need to study hard. I wish I can have a better environment to study so I can create a better future for myself and also I can do more contribution."

This child's best friend will more than likely meet and leave with his new family during the exact same month that Chaz ages out.  Sigh...

If you would like more info on any of these precious children, please let me know!  They are heavy on my heart today, on Orphan Sunday, and will be heavy on my heart, tomorrow and the next day and the next.

Thank you for caring about the orphans today, tomorrow and the next...

You are the voice of the voiceless.

Keep shouting...
