they are a changing...
Every year around this time, the Lord blesses us...
thanks to my sweet Mom, we get to spend a week at our favorite spot on this earth...
Edisto
or as I like to say...
Edistahhhhh....
I grew up coming to this place...
It is not a big fancy beach with lots of shops, water parks and upscale restaurants...
but it is a place of beauty and serenity for me...
a place to disconnect so that we can reconnect...
a place to remember...
and a place to create new memories.
My kids look forward to this week just as much as I do...
and watching them embrace this place as much as I have...
makes my heart smile, cause if it weren't for this place...
they may not even be here as this is the place that Hubby proposed...
and I said "YES"!
Little did I know exactly what I was saying "yes" to!
*grin*
This place holds my childhood memories, my grown up memories and now my children's memories...
and while this very special house is now under contract...
I am trusting that the Lord will provide the way, someday, for my future grandchildren to have their own memories here.
For now, I am so incredibly thankful for the years that He gave us here...
for the memories that will not be sold along with the house...
for the provision that this loss will create...
and for my sweet Mother's generous heart.
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven
Ecclesiastes 3:1
This season in our lives doesn't always feel so good but He does make it purposeful and we are able to experience His presence more fully and we are learning to cling to Him daily!
He has given us some wonderful memories in this place and I know in my heart that one day, when we are worn out and really ready for some "Edistahhhh" time...
He will provide the way.
For the last two summers our adoption travel group reunion has been on Edisto. It is a special place indeed.
