Thank you...

I seem to be saying those two words a lot lately!

You see, we have had a tough couple of years financially and have often found ourselves these days in the position of humility and thankfulness.

It has been hard

hard to accept help

hard to ask for help

hard to not be able to GIVE help.

HARD

Through it all, however, we have grown

We have grown in our faith - what a purposeful struggle it has been.

We have grown in our relationships with one another and our friends

and we have grown within ourselves, understanding what it means to be humble and thankful and reliant on the one true provider.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:19

The Lord has provided for us in so many ways but if you have followed my blog recently, you will remember

To say that I was absolutely blown away is a definite understatement!

The Lord chose to use my wonderful friends (Angie!!!) to provide a brand new computer, a computer to continue my advocacy, a computer to be able to be a voice for the voiceless.

To advocate for children like Cherry

and Tessa

and Adrianne

and Tiana

and precious Evie

It was hard to be without a working computer.

It was hard to have families email me about a certain precious child and not be able to answer them.

It was hard to look into the beautiful faces of these precious children who needed to be seen and not be able to help them.

Now, don't get me wrong, I am not alone in this mission.    There is such a wonderful group of hard working, self sacrificing advocates whom I have come to know and love and whom, I have a sneaking suspicion were in on the great computer caper!   They were also so helpful when I was computerless and unable to help.  God bless each and every one of these wonderful ladies!

So, without further ado, please let me introduce my new little friend!!

This is my brand new computer!!!!

My brand new computer that is super fast.

My brand new computer that can hold ALL of my gazillion pics and video and files and and and!!!!

My brand new computer that has a battery that actually works!!!!

I can sit here or there or way over yonder - cause I am no longer attached to the power cord 24/7!!!

My brand new computer that is so light, I can tote it anywhere in the house in one hand while carrying laundry (or a child)  in the other!!!!  Yippee!!!!

My brand new computer that I am so incredibly thankful for and so incredibly humbled by  and I just had to say one great big

to all who were Angie's beautiful partners in the great computer caper!!!!  You all have, simply put, brought me to my knees.    I am eternally grateful and hope that you all know how much this meant to me and to my poor hubby who spent a huge amount of time trouble shooting and band aiding my old computer!!!

You are all just the most amazing friends and I thank the Lord for you all, everyday!!!

A very special thank you to my dear friend Angie who has taught me a lot about faithfulness and the power of prayer!   Talk about living a life for Christ!!!!  Yep, that's Angie and Tom!

So, I am back in the saddle again, so to speak

Much more humble and faithful and incredibly thankful!!!!

Sunday Snapshot - Guest Blogger

Hey y'all guess what!  Its me writing this post

So the reason I am guest blogging is cause I am asking for prayers, prayers to be able to attend a certain high school next year.

  BE High School

BE is a high school, but not an ordinary high school its a really good high school and I would very much like to be able to go there next year,

to play soccer there next year.

 There are some roadblocks, however.

So if you all could add me in your prayers that would be awesome

 Thanks everyone,
Christian

Ahhhh....

The joys of home schooling!!!!

Can't think of a better way to learn about soil and minerals!

 Can you????

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

OUCH!

OK, I am not particularly squeamish!

I mean I have birthed 4 babies - 2 without any pain medication - TWO!

I have been through the LONG and FRUSTRATING adoption process, which if you have NO patience (like yours truly), can be extremely painful and not for the faint of heart!  Heh!

I have seen my fair share of skinned knees, bloody noses, road rashes, cuts, scrapes, stitches, bumps and bruises!

It comes with the territory...

Three boys and two little girls who have, well, three big brothers

Nuf said!

But this...

This was a bit much for even me, a well seasoned Mom of five!

I mean things sticking out of parts of my children's bodies is just too much y'all!

I did offer to pull it out but he refused.

He wanted to cut it out

Oh my!

I was able to get the scissors

and sterilize them

oh yeah and take a pic cause...

I blog, don't ya know!

But that was it

apres' pic, I HAD to look away!

Yes, this was my eldest

who wants to be in the military

I guess this was good practice - but for whom???  Sigh!

He managed to get it out...

without me...

AND

he shaved for the first time tonight...

AND

he is finally taller than me...

AND

he will be driving this year...

Sniff Sniff

AND

I cannot bear much more!

My seriously cute little 2 year old who had to be rocked to sleep every single night with his pacy and his blankets and his "Bo" and "Ginger" just cannot be old enough to cut splinters tree branches out of his own foot, shave his beautiful baby face, look down at me AND start driving soon!!!

 Say it ain't so!

Do they make sneakers with heels???

My first baby is growing up

and even though there is a small part of me that was relieved that I did not have to cut that splinter tree branch out of his foot...

there is a bigger part of me that misses the days when he needed me (ALL the time)

when he was totally dependent on me...

for everything...

24/7

7 days a week

including holidays...

yeah, um, come to think of it..,

a 14 year old who shaves, is taller than me and cuts splinters tree branches out of his own foot...

isn't so bad after all!

Sunday Snapshot - Happy Birthday Charlie

Charlie

If I had to describe Charlie in one word, that word would be...

FUN!!!!

My sweet Charlie likes to have fun and...

MAKE FUN!!

Charlie never takes things too seriously so on the few occasions that he gets upset...

he really gets upset...

but it never lasts long (it never does with boys, does it - heh)...

and our sunshine child is back

ready for the next adventure...

and with Charlie...

there are LOTS of adventures!

Yep, our Charlie keeps us on our toes!

He keeps us laughing...

and shaking our heads!  Hehe!

Charlie, however, is that rare combination of fun and funny

and caring

and compassionate

and oh so sweet!

He still hugs his Momma

Although not usually in front of his friends!

Many times he is the peacemaker in our house...

even though he is usually the one "disturbing the peace!"  Hehe!

and now...

He is 12 years old!!

One year away from teenagerhood!!

Gulp!

To celebrate his 12th birthday, he wanted to play football

with a bunch of boys

a bunch of wild boys who

apparently don't know the meaning of 2 hand touch

or NO tackle

 DAD!!!!!

Sigh!

We had "C" cupcakes

and Che*tos

unfortunately we forgot the wipes! Ha!

It was a great day

for a great kid!!

I think I will end with Charlie's own personal signature on his phone

Charlie is...

We love you sweet Charlie Boo and hope that all your days will be
